How SureTouch Works

As the clinician gently moves the SureTouch hand-held sensor across the breast and underarm area, you’ll see multi-dimensional color images instantly appear on a computer screen in real-time, allowing you and your clinician to view the size, shape, hardness and location of suspicious masses immediately.

SureTouch exam doesn’t painfully pull or flatten your breast. The upper outer quadrant, where the majority of breast cancers occur, can be examined easily and without any discomfort. Since SureTouch exams are digitally recorded, results can be tracked and stored, so your clinician can easily compare your latest report to earlier results, which means more peace of mind for you.

What is SureTouch - Tactile Breast Imaging

SureTouch Tactile Breast Imaging (TBI) employs state-of-the-art elastography technology and is classified as a Class II medical device approved under the name Breast View®Visual Mapping System. SureTouch utilizes tactile sensing technology, originally developed at Harvard University, that captures the sense of touch which has been used for cancer detection for thousands of years by physicians and it accounts for 80% of breast abnormalities found today.

The FDA-cleared (FDA #K010514) SureTouch System

Breasts are examined quickly and accurately without compression or radiation. SureTouch’s patented, Tactile Breast Imaging sensor glides easily over the entire breast and underarm area, and its 192 sensors capture and document the shape, location, size and hardness of breast lesions.

Breast lesions are displayed on the SureTouch console screen as two- and three-dimensional full-color images. Images are digitally stored for future reference, results can be tracked and compared for changes over time.

Tactile Breast Imaging maps lesion information from raw tactile images by using advanced proprietary image algorithms.
